3.  SECURITY ALERT & SAFETY TIPS

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is warning residents to be on guard for burglary rings using high-tech tools.

Hidden Flowerbed Cameras
The cameras, disguised to blend in with vegetation, enable the thieves to stake out multiple homes remotely to determine when residents come and go.

Criminals in Disguise
Criminals are now impersonating pest control workers and other “official looking” employees in vests, masks, and other uniforms.

License Plate Theft
Criminals are brazenly stealing license plates, so make sure you know yours and double check it’s the right one!

The sheriff’s department recommends residents fight technology with technology and vigilance, offering a number of tips that can be found in the article below:

6.  GOLDEN RETRIEVER FOSTERS NEEDED!

From Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue:

We need fosters!  Especially those with no other dogs and those willing to foster bonded pairs.

This time of year, the weeks before July 4th we see a large increase in people wanting to relinquish their dogs and/or dumping them in shelters. We need to be prepared for this increase by having fosters in place. If you’d like to open your heart and your home to help save the lives of golden retrievers in need, please consider becoming a foster!

Start the process by completing our online foster application here:
