EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT EARTHQUAKES AND HOW THE “BIG ONE” (predicted 7.8) WILL AFFECT US IN HOLMBY WESTWOOD
Geologist Deborah Weiser from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) will speak to residents of our community about where the fault lines are located in Holmby Westwood, what we can expect following a massive earthquake, and how we can protect ourselves, our families, and our homes. Los Angeles Fire Department Battalion Chief Mark Akahoshi will also be addressing our residents at the meeting.

Beginning on Wednesday, September 2nd from 6:30 to 9:00 PM ,and on each Wednesday evening (ending on October 14th), CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) classes will be given by the LA Fire Department at Saint Alban’s Episcopal Church. CERT training provides private citizens with the basic skills they will need to handle their own needs and then respond to their community’s needs in the aftermath of a disaster when professional emergency services (fire, ambulance, police, etc.) will not be available for up to 6 weeks.
