2. HAND SANITIZER – PRODUCTS TO AVOID
The FDA is advising the public not to use over 100 different hand sanitizers made by more than 20 companies.
Please check your hand sanitizer to ensure it is not made by a manufacturer on this list:
3. STAN’S DONUTS LOCATION TO BECOME PRIMO’S DONUTS
Fans were sad to learn in April that Westwood donut shop owner Stan Berman was retiring after 55 years, but now one of LA’s most historic donut shops, Primo’s Donuts on Sawtelle, is set to open this fall in the Westwood space vacated by Stan’s Donuts.

The House of Meatballs is excited to partner with HWPOA and is appreciative of your support of businesses in Westwood Village.
House of Meatballs is offering a great dine-in special for all HWPOA members – 20% off all regular priced food and drinks. Just say “I Love Westwood!” Works for dine-in only and valid through Sept 30, 2020.
Come visit us in our brand new alfresco dining patio and wine garden!
About us: We are a fun little restaurant serving up great food and wines that’s approachable to all. We take pride in our pastas, meatballs and breads, and they are made fresh, in-house every day.
COVID: In the current COVID environment we have instituted very high COVID safety operating standards, which includes frequent cleaning and sanitization of all dining surfaces, properly distanced tables and wait staff with face masks, face guards and gloves.
6. FRIENDSHIP LINE – RESOURCE FOR OLDER ADULTS
Following social distancing recommendations such as not getting together with friends or family that don’t live with us can leave many people feeling isolated. This is especially true with older adults who may be living alone and have to be especially careful with their health. The resulting lack of social interaction can lead to anxiety or even depression. Fortunately there are a couple of resources for folks in this situation.
The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health has a warmline for older adults who need someone to talk to. They can call 1 (800) 854-7771 and select Option #2. Older adults who need crisis intervention should call the same number but select Option #1. This is the older adult hotline.
The State of California Institute on Aging also has a Friendship Line for Older Adults. The number is 1-888-670-1360, and it’s open 24/7!
7. LAX TRAVELERS’ SURVEY
LAX is conducting a survey about traveling safely during this challenging time, and your opinions and ideas can help them develop new and innovative ways to keep guests safe.
Please take this brief survey to provide feedback on how they can enhance your guest experience when traveling through LAX. The survey is open through Wednesday August 19th: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LAXtravelSafely

9. RESIDENT ADS
SEEKING SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR
We need a swimming instructor, who will come to our pool to teach our 4+ year old granddaughter who will visit for one week. She loves the water and has a strong desire to swim. She’s had prior instruction in a class but is not a swimmer yet.
Please send any personal recommendations to swy333@gmail.com. Thanks for your help.
