3. DOOR-TO-DOOR SOLICITORS ALERT
A resident reported that on several evenings recently, a gentleman went up and down her street soliciting door-to-door, claiming that he just got out of prison and is working to get donations to help youth as part of his effort to remake himself. He dresses well. The first time, the resident gave him money and told him not to go around the neighborhood when its dark ringing bells because it makes people uncomfortable having a stranger at their door when its dark.
It is possible that this person is legitimate and his efforts are genuine. However, it is also possible that he is “scoping out the neighborhood”, noting cars in driveways, who is home, etc. Please take precautions and be on alert.
