1.  HWPOA BOARD MEETING

On Tuesday, March 13 at 8:00 PM, the HWPOA Board of Directors will hold its monthly meeting at Belmont Village, 10475 Wilshire Blvd.  Please click here to see the agenda.

Members of the community are welcome to attend, though space is limited. Please let us know if you plan to attend.  Email Dana at hwpoa@aol.com.

2.  DAYLIGHT SAVINGS REMINDER

Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed Saturday night, March 10. Daylight savings begins this Sunday, March 11! It’s time to “spring forward” – set your clocks forward one hour!

Daylight Saving Time is also a great time to check the things that keep us safe and ready for emergencies. It is a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, double check the expiration dates on your emergency kits and replace missing/expired items.

Incident #: 180807021
300 BLOCK COMSTOCK AV  |  3/7/2018 @ 7:45 PM

ARRESTS OF INTEREST
A suspect was arrested in connection to a series of Burglary Theft from Motor Vehicles and Residential Burglaries of Single Family Dwellings in the West Los Angeles and Beverly Hills communities.

The suspect targeted the Bel Air Beverly Crest and Westwood Hills communities in the West Los Angeles Area as well as locations in the city of Beverly Hills.

The Male suspect who is a parolee would target property and valuables left in unlocked vehicles and would peer into victim’s homes through front door glass during the overnight hours in search of visible valuables while residents were sleeping. If valuables were visible in plain view the suspect would then “smash and grab” through the window glass retrieving the property and then fleeing on a bicycle.

In addition, two additional suspects who were also on parole/probation were apprehended in connection to similar crimes as well as two Grand Theft Autos that occurred in the Westwood Hills community.

4.  WESTSIDE PAVILION MAKEOVER

From the Westwood-Century City Patch:

Westside Pavilion mall, once a thriving shopping mecca in the heart of West Los Angeles, will be renovated into office space under a partnership announced Monday by the mall owner and a real estate development company.

Under the deal between Macerich and Hudson Pacific Properties, the 600,000-square-foot mall will be transformed into 500,000 square feet of office space, while maintaining about 100,000 square feet of existing “entertainment retail space.”
