1. WATER CONSERVATION
The City of Los Angeles has mandatory water restrictions due to the current drought. Please note the following:
Sprinkler Use Restrictions
Outdoor watering with sprinklers is restricted to three days a week with different watering days assigned to
odd-numbered and even-numbered street addresses.
• Customers with odd-numbered street addresses – ending in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 – are allowed to use their sprinkler systems on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
• Customers with even-numbered street addresses – ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 – are allowed to use their sprinkler systems on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
• Watering with sprinklers is limited to one cycle of up to 8 minutes per station per watering day for nonconserving nozzle sprinkler systems (typical residential system), or two 15-minute cycles per watering day for conserving nozzle sprinkler systems.
• All outdoor watering is prohibited from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., regardless of the watering day.
Other Prohibited Water Uses
• Watering of any hard surfaces such as sidewalks, walkways, driveways or parking areas;
• Outdoor watering during periods of rain;
• Allowing runoff onto streets and gutters from excessive watering;
• Allowing leaks from any pipe or fixture to go unrepaired;
• Washing vehicles without using a hose with a self-closing water shut-off nozzle;

2. LAPD CRIME REPORT
Current Trending Analysis
Auto related crimes (Burglary Theft from Vehicle, Grand Theft Auto) are occurring in the Holmby Westwood area. Package Thefts appear to be trending throughout the area as well. Packages being delivered and left unattended in accessible areas are being stolen.
Protect yourself from becoming a victim and crime statistic. Ensure that you remove all visible items and valuables from inside of your vehicle. Your car, regardless of whether it’s locked and secured or not, is not a safe or secure place to leave ANYTHING! Remember, Lock It, Hide It, Keep It!
Grand Theft Auto:
10500 block Lindbrook Drive. RD: 0828. Between 7/8/14, 8:00 PM and 7/9/14, 8:00 AM, a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from the street.

6. THANK YOU FROM FIRE STATION #71
LA Fire Station 71 and the “Adopt a Fire Station” program thank the many Holmby Westwood homeowners who supported the station with very generous donations. These donations supplement the needs at the station for those things that the City of LA does not provide. The men and women are very grateful for your support. We will put some photos from the Pancake Breakfast as well as recent purchases in the next newsletter.
